Such a great post on buying a used car!! Josh and I totally got swindled into paying more on our suburban, and it was a pretty lousy experience. Thankfully, we were able to cancel two of the expensive add-ons in the first 30 days, and paid it off early to avoid extra interest, but it wasn?t very fun. It ended up being very expensive.

I cannot stress the tip of doing your research enough! It?s important to understand what you?re going into; don?t be afraid to ask for a test drive. Private sellers have mostly been cheaper for me, but there are also benefits of purchasing a used car from a dealership. Dealerships can often give incentives and warranties, which is nice, if you plan on using them.

I was lucky to have a good experience buying my first car. It was used, and from a private seller. What made me so lucky was that the private seller was my sister in law, so I trusted her and we went and got her car checked for any issues at a local shop together before I bought it. People won?t be as lucky as that, and this article does a great job with tips and advice. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing these tips on purchasing a used car. I was just able to sell my Mazda Miata and I am currently looking for a cheaper car. I bought that car almost brand new. I still need a functioning vehicle really soon. Hopefully I find one in the next few days. Thanks!
